West African super app Gozem raised $30 M Series B funding to accelerate expansion

To speed up its growth and transform digital services in Francophone Africa, Gozem, a West African super app, has secured US $30 million in Series B funding.

Gozem began as a moto-taxi service in Togo in 2018 and has since grown to Benin, Gabon, and Cameroon. The company is working on a super app that combines digital ticketing, vehicle financing, food and grocery delivery, ride-hailing, and digital banking.

Under the leadership of SAS Shipping Agencies Services Sàrl and Al Mada Ventures, Gozem has raised US $30 million in Series B funding, which includes both debt and equity.

The company will be able to finance more brand-new cars for taxi drivers, expand further throughout West and Central Africa, and launch its cutting-edge digital bank, Gozem Money, more quickly thanks to the new funding.

“We are thrilled to welcome MSC Group and Al Mada Ventures as strategic investors. Their extensive experience in African logistics and financial services will be invaluable in scaling our super app and expanding into new markets. Having such industry leaders support Gozem is a strong validation of our vision,” said Gregory Costamagna and Raphael Dana, co-Founders of Gozem.

“Gozem is an exceptional company that aligns perfectly with MSC Group’s dedication to Africa and its focus on developing innovative mobility and logistics solutions to boost trade. We are happy to accompany them on their journey and look forward to collaborating in the markets we both share across West and Central Africa.” said Diego Aponte, MSC Group president.
