Appliance manufacturing startup Mekr raises Rs 67 Cr from Avaana Capital

In a Series A funding round headed by Avaana Capital and involving Titan Capital Winners Fund, consumer electronics design and manufacturing startup Mekr has raised Rs 67 crore ($7 million).
The money raised will go toward boosting R&D, increasing manufacturing automation, localizing supplier networks, enhancing quality systems, and increasing exports.
Mekr is a full-stack consumer appliance design and manufacturing platform that was founded in 2022 by Anand Yadav and Gaurang Kuchhal.
For appliance brands, the startup offers end-to-end services in product design, prototyping, tooling, certification, and mass production.
Mekr currently operates in a number of categories, including personal care, automotive accessories, and kitchen and home appliances. The company says it has created over 100 SKUs and collaborated with more than 40 brands, such as Flipkart, Amazon Basics, Wipro, and Croma.
Modular engineering systems, such as BLDC motor systems, heating systems, load cells, and in-house mold design capabilities, are used by Mekr to create products.
