SA open-source intelligence startup VoxCroft acquired by US company Redpoint Advisors

The US-based Redpoint Advisors has purchased the South African open-source intelligence firm VoxCroft Analytics.
VoxCroft was established in 2018 with the belief that the most significant intelligence gaps in the modern world are located in austere information environments, the frequently disregarded locations and societies subtly influencing the twenty-first century, rather than in well-documented markets.
The company created a proprietary method it calls “population-centric intelligence,” which combines low-resource machine translation, AI public sentiment analytics, hyperlocal data collection, and specialized human wisdom to help governments and international organizations make sense of environments that traditional intelligence tools just cannot.
In a direct capability play, Redpoint Advisors has now bought VoxCroft, which in 2021 raised about US$2 million in Series A funding from Knife Capital. Redpoint provides overwatch, insider risk, geopolitical risk, and intelligence services to government, business, and private clients all over the world. The acquisition of VoxCroft’s intelligence platform results in a combined capacity that is highly relevant to international organizations and government clients navigating high-risk, complicated circumstances.
“We founded Redpoint Advisors to be a high-touch, bespoke advisory firm for global clients operating in the most complex environments. The acquisition of VoxCroft enhances the capabilities we can bring to our clients and allows us to extend VoxCroft’s reach into additional sectors. We appreciate the partnership with Knife Capital throughout this transaction and look forward to jointly growing VoxCroft South Africa,” said Michael LaFontaine, co-founder and managing director of Redpoint Advisors.
