Rusk Media receives strategic investment from Yash Raj Films

Rusk Media, a digital-first entertainment firm, has received a strategic investment from Yash Raj Films (YRF).
Nazara Technologies led a pre-Series C fundraising deal that saw the Delhi-based startup raise Rs 100 crore ($10.6 million). Info Edge Ventures, IvyCap Ventures, and a group headed by Audacity VC also participated in the round.
According to a news statement from Rusk Media, the money raised will be utilized to develop the next generation of digital intellectual property for both Indian and international markets.
Under the arrangement, Rusk Media will produce and distribute the content via its exclusive Alright! TV platform and international digital platforms, while YRF will be in charge of the creative direction of original animation and vertical micro drama IP.
Mayank Yadav, Karanvir Sofat, and Shantanu Singh co-founded Rusk Media in 2019. It is a mobile-first, Gen Z-focused digital entertainment company that produces high-end serialized social and OTT video IP, including social UGC gaming, fiction, and unscripted programming. According to the corporation, over a billion views are produced each month on all of its platforms.
Production, post-production, domestic and international distribution, music, digital content, marketing, talent management, licensing, merchandising, brand alliances, and studio operations are all areas in which YRF participates within the filmmaking and content ecosystem.
Rusk Media claims to create animated content, vertical dramas, unscripted formats, serialized fiction, and live entertainment forms.
Rusk Media’s losses decreased 11.7% to Rs 25.33 crore from Rs 28.70 crore in the previous fiscal year, while its revenue increased 43.1% to Rs 81.38 crore in FY25 from Rs 56.85 crore in FY24.
