Qatar International Islamic Bank makes strategic investment in SkipCash

Qatari digital payments company SkipCash has secured a strategic investment from Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), marking another milestone in the company’s growth as it expands its digital payments infrastructure across Qatar and the GCC. While the value of the investment was not disclosed, the deal reflects growing collaboration between established financial institutions and local fintech companies as Qatar advances its digital economy ambitions.

Founded in 2019, SkipCash offers a suite of digital payment solutions for businesses, including merchant acquiring, online payment gateways, QR payments, payment links, Tap to Phone (SoftPOS), and integrated payment services. Licensed by the Qatar Financial Centre and regulated by the Qatar Central Bank, the company currently serves more than 10,000 merchants across multiple industries and processed payment transactions exceeding QAR 1 billion during 2025.

The new investment will support the company’s next phase of growth by expanding its payment infrastructure, accelerating product innovation, strengthening its merchant ecosystem, and introducing new financial technologies that simplify payment acceptance and management for businesses. SkipCash also plans to use the funding to accelerate its regional expansion strategy through partnerships across GCC markets.

The announcement follows SkipCash’s $4 million Series A round completed earlier this year with backing from Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Islamic Insurance Company, KBN Holding Group, Finjan Venture Investments, and Doha Tech Angels. Together, the investments reinforce SkipCash’s position as one of Qatar’s fastest-growing fintech companies while highlighting increasing institutional confidence in the country’s homegrown fintech ecosystem.
