Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town invites startups to network and pitch
During the November 12–14 African Tech Festival in Cape Town, South Africa, startups have numerous opportunities to pitch their ideas, network with investors, and meet potential clients. With more than 450 speakers, hundreds of exhibitors, and over 15,000 attendees, the Africa Tech Festival—which includes anchor events AfricaCom, AfricaTech, AfricaIgnite, and AI Summit Cape Town—is Africa’s largest tech and digital connectivity conference and exhibition.
AfricaIgnite is the premier event for founders, investors, and important players in the tech ecosystem, supporting market access and investment opportunities for startups on the continent. This year’s event, the 27th, will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from November 12–14.
Founders can network with and learn from seasoned businesspeople at the pre-event Founder and Investor Day, and they can meet possible venture capitalists through the Matchmaking Program. Founders will have the chance to interact with potential clients and raise brand awareness by exhibiting in the startup marketplace at the event.
The AfricaIgnite Pitch Competition, presented in collaboration with the Startup World Cup and supported by Pegasus Tech Ventures, gives entrepreneurs a chance to present their concepts in real time to possible partners and investors. The winner will join the top startups from around the world in the US for the Startup World Cup Grand Finale the following year, where they will vie for a US$1 million investment prize.
“Africa Tech Festival is all about providing a platform for stakeholders from across all spheres of Africa’s technology arena to connect, collaborate, and drive innovation. It is wonderful to see how AfricaIgnite has grown since first being included in the Africa Tech Festival line-up. This year sees the highest attendance by founders and venture capitalists to date, reflecting the effectiveness of the platform in growing Africa’s startup ecosystem. Delegates can look forward to a stellar range of speakers, and sponsorship by established brands like Collective 54 and SAP for Scaleups,” said James Williams, event director of Africa Tech Festival.
