Algerian edtech startup LabLabee raised $3.4 M Seed funding

Innovative edtech startup LabLabee from Algeria has raised $3.4 million in seed money to advance the use of cloud, AI, and 5G technologies in the telecom and industrial domains. Reach Capital spearheaded the investment round, with notable contributions from Classera, and garnered support from pre-existing investors Brighteye Ventures and e& capital. Prominent business angels Mohammed Husamaddin and Cedric Sellin have also joined this funding effort.

The company plans to enter the US market by forming partnerships with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and hopes to further establish its leadership in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. LabLabee plans to expand its range of educational resources by launching new interactive training labs for Redhat, Windriver, and VMware.

Through immersive features like a sandbox environment where users can study, practice, and test within a single platform, LabLabee is committed to enhancing the learning experience. Additionally, the startup will add subjects like edge computing, AI applications in telecommunications, and telco security to its course catalog that are pertinent to the fourth industrial revolution.

LabLabee intends to hire more engineers, salespeople, and customer support specialists in order to support its global workforce growth and better serve its expanding clientele. LabLabee, which was founded in 2021 by Samir Tahraoui and Mahfoud Sidi Ali Mebarek, provides real-world, experiential learning opportunities with an emphasis on cutting-edge network technologies.

In order to lower costs and improve skill development, the company works with a variety of organizations, such as telecom operators, vendors, and educational institutions, to incorporate practical exercises into training programs. This method offers learners inexpensive, on-demand labs covering a variety of cutting-edge technologies like 5G, IMS, and Kubernetes, thereby addressing the notable skills gap in cloud-native technologies among telecom operators.

Reach Capital co-founder Esteban Sosnik commended LabLabee for its dedication to tackling the skills gap in the telecom industry, recognizing the founders’ extensive technical knowledge and business acumen. Samir Tahraoui emphasized that LabLabee’s solutions are made to streamline the learning process, enabling professionals in quickly changing technology environments to learn more quickly and practically.
