Lightstorm, a provider of cloud and data center networking solutions, has raised Rs 700 crore, or approximately $80.5 million, in funding under the direction of NIIF Infrastructure Finance Limited (NIIF IFL).
Lightstorm Telecom Ventures, its telecom infrastructure platform in India, received an investment of approximately $300 million earlier in June 2019 from New York-based I Squared Capital.
The money raised will be utilized to support businesses’ digital transformation projects and supply network infrastructure.
Lightstorm, which was founded by Amajit Gupta and Ranjan Banerjee, specializes in providing network solutions that provide scalable and secure connectivity, allowing for integration across data center and cloud environments.
With a capacity of approximately 700 Tbps, the company claims to have constructed more than 30,000 km of fiber network throughout India since its founding in 2020, and it currently serves more than 100 customers.
In order to better serve the needs of big businesses nationwide, Lightstrom will also use the money to increase its network footprint and enhance its operational capabilities.
