Swiss-founded BE WTR raised $45.45 M Series C funding for expansion plans
The sustainable and premium water solutions provider BE WTR, established in Switzerland, has raised CHF 39 million ($45.45 million) in its Series C funding round to support its expansion goals in Singapore and Asia.
After recently launching in Singapore, the company said in a statement on Monday that this most recent funding is essential as it looks to expand throughout Asia.
Leading the investment was Convent Capital, a well-known Dutch growth equity fund for agri-food, with strong support from Edmond de Rothschild Direct Investments, PeakBridge, a well-known FoodTech investor and longtime supporter of BE WTR, and HHT, the holding company of serial entrepreneur Mike Hecker, the founder, principal shareholder, and CEO of BE WTR, along with other private investors.
The objective of BE WTR, which is to provide premium water solutions that are environmentally friendly and ensure that everyone has access to clean drinking water while minimizing the use of single-use plastics and packaging, will be expedited by this new funding round.
With the goal of establishing new benchmarks for water consumption in the residential, commercial, and hospitality domains, the company claimed to be at the forefront of innovation in water distribution, purification, and sustainability.
BE WTR intends to use the money to enhance its market-leading portfolio of water solutions, invest in research and development, and further extend its reach internationally and in Switzerland, including the opening of the Chinese and North American markets.
Notably, BE WTR’s creative, circular strategy provides a more environmentally friendly substitute for conventional bottled water consumption, supplying filtered, deliciously flavored water in stylish glass bottles right at the location.
“This funding round enables us to scale our circular bottling plants operations across Europe, Middle East, North America and Asia and expand our product offerings, driving further innovation in the water industry,” said Mike Hecker, Chief Executive Officer of BE WTR.
Convent Capital Agri Food Fund’s involvement is said to highlight their dedication to impact-driven businesses.
“We believe BE WTR is uniquely positioned to address some of the critical challenges around the logistics, waste and health implications of water consumption,
“Their vision aligns with our goal of supporting businesses that create lasting value for society and the environment,” said Dirk Hoorn, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Convent Capital.
