Two African agri-business challenges open applications
A big agri-based manufacturing firm in Kenya is receiving assistance from Innovate UK KTN Global Alliance Africa through the Global Alliance Innovation Exchange (iX) competition to find creative solutions to two pressing problems they are currently facing.
An Innovate UK KTN initiative called Global Alliance Innovation Exchange was created specifically to assist UK and international organizations in their search for ground-breaking answers to innovation-related problems. KTN has conducted more than 130 innovation challenges worldwide, including five so far in Africa.
The winners of two East African challenges that are now accepting applications will each get up to GBP25,000 (US $30,000) in initial financing to develop a solution to these particular problems in conjunction with the challenge holder.
The first challenge is finding creative ways to stop agricultural damage brought on by migratory birds. The second is looking for options for sorghum grain threshing that are inexpensive and simple to maintain. They both end on July 8.
