Fourth batch of government-led entrepreneurship training programme selects eighty-three Ugandan innovators

The National ICT Innovation Hub in Uganda has chosen 83 Ugandan entrepreneurs for the fourth batch of the Entrepreneurship Training and Mentorship (ETM) Program, which aims to assist them in turning potential concepts into viable enterprises.

The initiative is carried out under UJ-Connect, the Uganda-Japan ICT Industry Promotion Project, a collaboration between the Japanese and Ugandan governments via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The National ICT Innovation Hub and the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) work together to deliver it.

Eighty-three Ugandans were chosen for the program’s fourth batch. They will now receive hands-on entrepreneurship training, mentorship, business development support, and international exposure to help them develop their ideas, safeguard their intellectual property, access new markets, and create businesses that are ready for investment.

Dr. Frederick Kitoogo, principal of UICT, characterized the initiative as an investment in Uganda’s future, giving young innovators the chances, networks, and skills they need to create profitable businesses.

“This programme is more than entrepreneurship and innovation. It is an investment in the future. By equipping innovators with the right skills and opportunities, we are contributing directly to building a thriving economy,” he said.
