Bluehill.VC closes its first frontier-tech fund for Rs 400 Cr

Bluehill is a venture capital business situated in Chennai.The final closure of VC’s first frontier-tech fund, which included a Rs 50 crore greenshoe option, was announced at Rs 400 crore.
SIDBI, the governments of Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, family offices, founders, and UHNIs from India and the Middle East are among the institutional investors who have supported the fund.
The fund will invest in startups that are developing advanced materials, manufacturing, robotics, water, EVs, nuclear, defense, semiconductors, space, energy, and IoT technologies.
Bluehill.VC intends to invest an average of $1-2 million from seed to Series A in a portfolio of 15–16 businesses.
Over Rs 100 crore has already been invested by the company in seven different businesses. EtherealX, Zebu Intelligent Systems, Helex, Sophrosyne Technologies, and optoML are among its offerings.
Over the following six months, Bluehill.VC intends to invest an additional Rs 80 crore in firms creating exclusive technologies. The company works with founders from the very beginning of their companies using an invest-and-build strategy.
Bluehill.VC, which was founded in 2024 by Manu Iyer and Sridhar Parthasarathy, intends to continue investing in Indian frontier-tech startups by launching its next fund in 2027.
