Doctori, a Bahrain-based HealthTech startup has secured a $500K Seed funding round led by a number of undisclosed investors.
Founded in 2018 by Ahmed Alawadhi and Ahmed Mahmood, Doctori is a National Health Regulatory Authority licensed telemedicine application that connects board-certified doctors with patients through video calls.
Ahmed Mahmoud, CEO of Doctori, commented “We have worked to enter into partnerships with several associations in Bahrain, to provide free consultations to community members. We believe that this partnership will encourage community members to actively consult doctors and receive support and treatment as much as they need, indicating that the application provides easy and safe call consultations. Between the patient and the doctor, the goal is to provide a complete digital solution and make the platform a comprehensive digital hospital, where patients can diagnose, test and treat in a stress-free environment anywhere, without having to wait in line.”
The funds will be used towards enhancing the startup’s Doctor Who app, which launched its services in April 2020, to provide various medical care services for all spectrums of society, and includes more than 300 doctors and consultants who provide their services electronically. Moreover, Doctori has plans on expanding to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as the application will allow doctors from outside Bahrain to consult their patients, and this will allow patients to speak and consult with their doctors anywhere.
