Animoca Brands co-leads $11 M funding round for HK content firm Gusto Collective
Gusto Collective, a content creation service for clients located in Hong Kong, has secured $11 million in a seed round headed by Animoca Brands and Gaw Capital. This takes the total amount raised by the company to $23 million.
Gusto Collective, a brand tech company, combines narrative, data science, and technology to produce interactive marketing material. To improve client experiences, it focuses on augmented reality, metaverse, and NFT developments.
Aaron Lau, who formerly worked for the marketing firm Cheil Worldwide, launched the company in 2020.
“With the new funding, we intend to move more aggressively into Web3 tech services and expand geographically,” said Lau, adding that the company is looking to expand throughout Asia. It will also invest in product development.
With offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and London, the firm now employs 200 people.
This is Animoca’s second Web3 investment, following its $24.3 million investment in premier game studio Untamed Studio. It also co-led a US $7.5 million round for John Legend’s music NFT startup, Our Happy Company.
