Port Harcourt to witness StartupSouth’s 7th annual conference

On November 10–11, Port Harcourt will play host to the seventh iteration of StartupSouth, the largest startup conference in South-South and South-East Nigeria.

Since its inception in 2015, StartupSouth has brought entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from all across Nigeria and beyond to a city in the South-South and South-East of Nigeria each year to talk about emerging technologies, startup trends, and issues affecting the region’s startup ecosystem.

The conference’s theme for this year is “Remotely Global: Advancing Subnational Economies from Talents to Corporations,” which aims to investigate how to hasten the transformation of the region’s economies and upskill talent in an industry currently coping with the complexity of a wide range of new technologies.

High-profile speakers at the conference include Dr. Chimezie Amadi, commissioner for digital economy and e-government in Imo State, Funke Opeke, founder and CEO of MainOne, Tomi Davies, president of the African Business Angel Network, and MainOne founder and CEO Funke Opeke.

Policy, human capital and regional development, entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, health, education, and other topics will all be covered in the sessions. The conference will also include a Networking Hangout Party and an Award Gala that will provide early-stage founders of high-growth enterprises in Nigeria with networking opportunities and access to investors.
