LiveIn to expand Asia-Pacific reach with $8.3 M in series B round
With Wavemaker Partners and InterVest leading the pre-series B funding round, Malaysian proptech startup LiveIn has raised US $8.3 million. Participating firms included CAC Capital, Jungle Ventures, and Malaysia Debt Ventures (MDV).
By 2024, LiveIn, which is currently present in Malaysia and Thailand, intends to expand into new markets, such as Vietnam and Indonesia, with the help of the additional funding. The company also wants to add new service features to its platform and grow into new cities and the Philippines.
In 2018, LiveIn, formerly known as Hostel Hunting, changed its focus from being a marketplace for property owners to a provider of long-term rental solutions. With 120 employees, LiveIn claims to be on pace to add 10,000 rooms to its platform.
“We are witnessing a massive surge in demand for affordable long-stay rentals, with young people seeking more autonomy and quality living spaces,” LiveIn co-founder and CEO Keek Wen Khai said in a statement.
By acquiring Malaysian company KT Management in May, LiveIn increased its market share in the nation’s rental housing sector.
