Ghanaian tech talent startup Remoteli raised $315K funding from footballer Jeremie Frimpong
Dutch professional football player Jeremie Frimpong has contributed US$315,000 to the Ghanaian tech talent startup Remoteli in order to support the company’s efforts to transform the African job market.
In 2020, Remoteli, a technology-driven platform, was introduced with the goal of bringing together innovative companies looking to build highly skilled and diverse remote workforces and talented professionals from Africa.
Remoteli facilitates collaboration and removes geographical barriers through the use of sophisticated algorithms and data-driven insights. Apart from its primary matchmaking service, the startup is creating an array of tools and resources that aim to empower global businesses by linking them with skilled and driven African professionals. These consist of time monitoring tools, invoice systems, project management software, and smooth communication channels.
Football player Frimpong, a full-back for both the Dutch national team and German club Bayer Leverkusen, has now contributed to the development of these tools. His US $315,000 investment in the startup is intended to accelerate its growth and boost its significance.
“These collaborations have enabled us to tap into existing networks, promote digital literacy, and create job opportunities for a diverse talent pool,” said Remoteli CEO Samuel Brooksworth.
It’s not just Frimpong—other prominent football players are investing in tech startups in Africa.
