Singapore-based independent game developer 9 Lives Interactive revealed the completion of a $3 million financing round headed by Mechanism Capital.
Delphi Digital, Sfermion, 3Commas Capital, Momentum 6, Kosmos Ventures, Devmons GG, and CSP DAO were also involved in the round, according to a statement from 9 Lives Interactive.
In order to promote widespread adoption, the investment will be utilized to develop Nyan Heroes, the debut game from 9 Lives Interactive. Nyan Heroes is a next-generation hero shooter game with distinctive gameplay mechanics and an IP inspired by cats.
“Our goal is to create a flagship IP-driven shooter that delivers an immersive experience to team-based shooter fans of all ages and genders,” said Max Fu, Creative Director and CEO, of 9 Lives Interactive.
“Nyan Heroes features bleeding-edge technology, including the capabilities of the Unreal 5 engine and blockchain, to support true asset ownership in a thriving creator economy,
“We grew up playing shooter games, and we believe that this is the next evolution, where cute cat heroes give this genre mass appeal, which will lead to both Web2 and Web3 player adoption,” he added.
Established in 2021, 9 Lives Interactive’s team consists of seasoned professionals from top studios such as EA, Bungie, and Ubisoft, along with esteemed advisors from Twitch and Riot Games.
AAA multiplayer shooter and live service games like Halo, Destiny, Fortnite, Marvel’s Avengers, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six are just a few of the titles the team has developed, shipped, and maintained in the past.
In the cooperative, goal-based action game Nyan Heroes, oddball felines control strong mechs in combat to rescue the planet.
To secure objectives and defeat opponents, players can choose from eight different guardian classes and employ special abilities along with swift, feline-inspired movement.
From March 26 to April 9, Nyan Heroes is presently accessible in early access.
Airdrop missions have also been added to the game, giving the community access to NYAN, the token that powers the Nyan Heroes Ecosystem.
