$660K pledged to local startups by the New Lagos State Fund
A NGN1 billion (US $660,000) endowment has been given to the Lagos State Science, Research & Innovation Council (LASRIC) to support regional tech startups.
In addition to promoting creativity and research, the new LASRIC fund will strengthen Lagos’s standing as the location of numerous unicorns and early-stage startups.
The LASRIC Council, according to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was gathered with a “stellar team” and a fresh dedication to improving the state’s educational potential.
“We firmly believe that the evaluation needed for this economy will require significant investment in science, innovation, and technology. Therefore, at the reconstruction of this body today, I want to emphasise the key areas that we should focus on,” he said.
