Within six months, Apollo Tires closed automotive service platform Trumigo
According to sources, the multinational tire manufacturer Apollo Tyres has discontinued its doorstep car service program, Trumigo. Notably, the platform stopped offering its services six months after it launched.
Sources claim that the business was unable to gain traction and compete with other products on the market.
“Trumigo has laid off nearly 100 employees (including 75 ground staff) in the process. It did not provide severance pay to the entire ground staff and several full-time employees,” said a source on the condition of anonymity.
Upon its launch in February, Trumigo offered car repair services right to the customer’s door. With the intention of covering the entire Delhi (NCR) region, it was first introduced for Gurugram.
For some time now, Trumigo’s website has not been operational; provide links. For the last three days, it has also been displaying error messages.
A number of ex-employees have also made references to financial irregularities within the company, which are presently under audit.
Following GoMechanic, which underwent a forensic audit as well, Trumigo is the second automotive service company to fail. Following the discovery of irregularities in the company’s finances and overstated revenue, a number of investors, including Peak XV, wrote off their investment. Eventually, in a distressed sale, Servizzy of Lifelong Group purchased GoMechanic.
A group of investors recently contributed $6 million to GoMechanic, which was previously aiming for a billion-dollar valuation at a $20 million valuation.
