Celsius Logistics: A start-up solving cold-chain supply challenges in India

Celsius Logistics is a startup that aims to revolutionize the cold-chain supply industry in India, and the company was founded in 2020 by Swaroop Bose, Rajneesh Raman and Arbind Jain. All three of them saw potential to bridge the gap in the market and solve the logistical challenges faced by India’s cold-chain industry.

Swaroop Bose, Founder and CEO, Celcius said, “Having raised more funds, we aim to further expand our operations and build a seamless, and truly unbroken cold supply chain, ensuring food security for all.”

The cold-chain industry in India has various inefficiencies and challenges such as poor infrastructure, lack of standardization, and the costs being high. This eventually resulted in significant wastage of perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat products, leading to massive economic losses for farmers, distributors, and retailers.

Celsius Logistics focuses on addressing these issues by providing end-to-end cold-chain logistics solutions which will prove to be reliable, cost-effective, and efficient. The startup will use technology which will help them get real-time monitoring and tracking of shipments, ensuring that perishable goods are transported at optimal temperatures throughout the course of supply chain.

The startup has gained traction and is growing rapidly in India. The company has successfully established itself as a trusted partner for some of the biggest names in the food and beverage industry which includes Nestle, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola.

The Celsius Logistics’ founders’ mission is to improve India’s cold-chain business by providing creative and sustainable solutions that benefit all stakeholders in the supply chain. They are well-positioned to achieve this goal and have a substantial impact on the Indian economy due to their experience and enthusiasm for logistics. Currently, Celsius has transported over 125,000 tons of perishable cargo including industries such as agricultural produce, pharma, seafood, vaccines in over 350 plus cities.

The supply chain startup had recently bagged Rs 100 crore in its Series A funding round. The funding round was led by IvyCap Ventures with their clients being Zepto, Zomato, Keventers, Vadilal, Godrej etc.
