Clime Capital invests in Indonesia distributed solar developer Hijau

The South East Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II) will invest in Indonesian distributed solar developer PT Investasi Hijau Selaras (Hijau), according to a Tuesday announcement from Clime Capital, a Singapore-based fund manager dedicated to hastening the low-carbon transition.

According to a statement, SEACEF II could invest up to $10 million in Hijau.

Hijau, which was founded in 2017, claims to have been a trailblazer in Indonesia’s still-developing solar industry.

The business is actively growing its project pipeline to satisfy the rising demand for sustainable energy, and it has a proven track record of providing solar energy solutions for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clients.

The accelerated pipeline build-out will be facilitated by the SEACEF II investment, putting Hijau in a position to obtain follow-on debt financing for sustained expansion.

Hijau strives to complete all projects to the highest engineering and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, placing a high priority on technical quality, customer delivery, and safety in order to offer its clients long-term value. Strict adherence to legal and environmental requirements is another aspect of this commitment.

Customers can enjoy sustainable energy with total peace of mind thanks to Hijau’s tagline, “Green Energy Without Worry,” which reflects this dedication.

Victor Samuel, President Director at Hijau, said, “We are excited to have Clime Capital joining us. Their support will help us expand our green energy solutions across Indonesia while staying true to our focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.”

John Colombo, Indonesia Country Manager at Clime Capital, said, “Clime Capital is excited to announce this investment in Hijau, a pioneer in Indonesia’s distributed solar sector.”

“We look forward to supporting the company in its mission to deliver rooftop solar projects at the highest industry standards. Our early-stage investments support Indonesian businesses in reducing their energy expenditure while also advancing the clean energy transition,” he added.
