Foodtech startup The State Plate acquired by intercity delivery service JustMyRoots
The State Plate (TSP), a foodtech startup, has been acquired by intercity food delivery service JustMyRoots. The State Plate hopes to strengthen its position in India’s packaged intercity food market with this acquisition.
Peyush Bansal, the co-founder of Lenskart, had previously given TSP funding during a Shark Tank episode. In July, it also received financial support from Antler India and former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly.
Muskaan Sancheti and Raghav Jhawar, the founders of TSP, will join the Justmyroots staff in accordance with the terms of the agreement. They will continue to lead and manage the TSP brand, bringing their creative vision to support the growing portfolio of JustMyRoots.
To better serve the sizable Indian diaspora that is spread out across the globe, the company intends to increase their international market expansion.
TSP is a local startup that specializes in delivering a wide range of state-specific food products and groceries, from snacks and sweets to staples and beverages. It was founded in 2021. It offers food and ingredients from various states, including Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Assam.
JustMyRoots competes in the intercity food delivery market alongside other companies like Zomato and the much less well-known Tastes2Plate.
