For fellowship program, SA ed-tech incubator Injini collaborates with Mastercard Foundation

The Mastercard Foundation and South African ed-tech incubator Injini have joined forces to introduce the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Programme, which provides chosen businesses with access to finance and other forms of assistance.

Injini, a member of the UVU Africa Group, was established in 2017 with the primary objective of enhancing educational achievements in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is a recognized non-profit organization. The Injini Think Tank, the only ed-tech-specific accelerator in Africa, supports its objective to improve the caliber, accessibility, and relevance of education in the area through its programs and research.

Injini is currently looking for creative ed-tech firms to apply for its most recent initiative, which is this time focused on having an influence on education in South Africa, in cooperation with the Mastercard Foundation. The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Programme will offer qualified startups direct grant funding, product quality assessment and certification, intensive skill development, coaching and mentorship, specialized market research, and market access through Injini’s network of stakeholders across the education innovation landscape.

“We recognise the need for collaboration when tackling the challenges associated with the state of education across the region, so we’re delighted to partner with the Mastercard Foundation on this exciting new program,” said Krista Davidson, executive director of Injini. “Through Injini’s edition of this program, we intend to bolster the South African ed-tech ecosystem with additional resources, bring awareness to key stakeholders in the education innovation landscape and ultimately reach more learners and teachers with effective learning and teaching support.”

The program is accepting applications until March 19.
