Startups Without Borders’ fifth edition to be held at Cairo in May

The fifth iteration of Startups Without Borders’ annual summit has just been announced; it will be held May 10–11 at Kamelizer Spaces in District 5.

The summit, which was organized with the slogan “Break Borders, Build Global Horizons,” will unite 3,000 global innovators with influential figures from the tech sector, bringing together extraordinary minds that will make history.

Strong speakers and notable investors from the United States, Senegal, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and London, including Michael Lints, Sadaharu Seiku, and Ibrahim Sagna, will be present at the event.

Helping entrepreneurs create businesses with a global reach will be the main topic of the content. John Gamba and Jackie Jircitano will be teaching workshops on how to break into the US market, and a range of soft-landing programs tailored to the US and Saudi markets will be showcased.

“For the past 6 years, we have gone from city to city in the MENA and Europe on a mission to build a transnational ecosystem for entrepreneurs, no matter where they come from. In a difficult year for the region, we believe there couldn’t be a better time to join forces and connect the visionary entrepreneurs that turn every crisis into an opportunity. By bringing startup delegations and investors from all corners of the world, from Italy to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, we are certain that the power that cross-border collaboration can spark is boundless.” Valentina Primo, founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders, says.

The introduction of the AI Salon, a brand-new event format that is making its Middle East debut in collaboration with US-based venture capital firm Blitzscaling Ventures, is among the summit’s most exciting aspects.

The event will include talks and panels featuring renowned speakers in addition to the Investor Room, which in 2023 hosted 460 meetings between investors and startups. Startups take part in 101 meetings with investors from top global VCs and investors, where they are matched with investors based on industry, geography, and ticket size.

In addition, a talent matching area, scholarships for refugee entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Netherlands’ Forward Inc., and a corporate match-making room where business leaders can meet and network with creative entrepreneurs are returning to the summit this year.

Along with more than 30 jam-packed workshops that give entrepreneurs the knowledge and resources they need to grow and scale, from creating a sales funnel to grasping the potential of artificial intelligence, the speaker lineup also features some of the most prominent VCs, accelerators, and investors who will talk about and unveil the new investment landscape.

In addition to venue partners District 5 and Kamelizer, sponsors and partners of the summit include Qewam, Odoo, Aspire Consulting, GSE-Penn University, and Blitzscaling Ventures.
