Ten female entrepreneurs receive grants of $100K from RevUp Women Initiative

At the business showcase that concluded its first program, the RevUp Women Initiative granted grant funding totaling US $100,000 to ten African women entrepreneurs.

The goal of the RevUp Women initiative is to empower female entrepreneurs throughout Africa. RevUp Women gives women the tools they need to launch and expand profitable businesses, promoting gender equality and economic growth through mentorship, training, and resource access.

AfriLabs and the Visa Foundation hosted the business showcase, which included an awards ceremony. The ten best finalists, chosen through a rigorous selection process, were declared winners and awarded US $10,000 grants.

These were Ndiqala from South Africa, WaziEats and V’s VitaLife from Cameroon, Mali Food and P.aktion from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Baby Grubz and Queen Amina Medical Integration from Nigeria, Ecokud and Ziada from Kenya, and other people.

“Investing in women isn’t just a moral imperative; it’s a strategic decision with far-reaching economic benefits.  As we strive for inclusive growth, it’s imperative that we recognise and harness the potential of women as drivers of economic development,” said Nanko Madu, director of programmes at AfriLabs.
