Pre-series A funding secured by Indonesian edtech platform Binar Academy

Binar Academy, an edtech platform for cultivating digital talent headquartered in Indonesia, has secured an undisclosed sum in a pre-series A follow-up fundraising round headed by Teja Ventures and iGlobe Partners, with participation from IWEF (a joint fund of YCAB Ventures and Moonshot Ventures).

The new cash will be utilized to grow the company’s operations, enhance user acquisition, and strengthen the workforce. Binar Academy’s curriculum and mobile app will also be improved.

Binar Academy provides a range of learning opportunities, including bootcamps, staff training, and workshops. The platform’s Job Connect function also connects bootcamp attendees with employers. BinarGO, a digital module that supports individual study, was recently developed by the company. Bank of Central Asia, Mandiri, Telkomsel, Tokopedia, Traveloka, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, among others, are among the company’s major partners.

According to a survey by Research and Markets, the worldwide edutech industry was worth US $254.8 billion in 2021, with a compound annual growth rate of 15.5 percent.

Alamanda Shantika, Seto Lareno, and Dita Aisyah, all Gojek grads, created Binar Academy in 2017.

Revenue in 2021 doubled from the previous year, according to the business. It is presently aiming for a 4x revenue increase.
