Legal-tech startup Lawyered raised $2.5 M Pre-series A funding from Rainmatter, Turbostart

Legal tech startup Lawyered has raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round co led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Turbostart, along with participation from its existing investor Finvolve.

Pawan Jaggi, VC investor Sandesh Sharda, co-founder of The Sleep Company Priyanka Salot, and Arjun Vaidya had previously given the Gurugram-based startup Rs 8.5 crore on the business reality show IdeaBaaz at a pre-money valuation of Rs 120 crore.

According to a press release from Lawyered, the additional funds will be used to scale technology infrastructure, improve product offerings, and speed up user acquisition with an emphasis on developing AI-led capabilities.

Himanshu Gupta founded Lawyered, a legal tech company, in 2018. It serves drivers, car owners, and logistics companies by acting as an AI-driven on-road legal assistance platform with a focus on “LOTS247” (roadside legal aid) and “ChallanPay” (traffic fine resolution). The platform’s goal is to create India’s go-to resource for locating and addressing legal mobility risks.

Lawyered claims that it is establishing the legal framework that keeps cars, fleets, and companies safe and compliant, addressing risks before they interfere with people’s lives or business operations. The platform lessens financial burden, avoids downtime, and gives people and businesses the assurance to proceed without legal uncertainty by taking a proactive approach to compliance.

Lawyered’s Gen AI-led approach turns India’s legal services—which are still mostly fragmented and reactive—into a proactive utility layer that is constantly on, embedded, and becoming more and more essential. It intends to go beyond mobility into every industry where people and businesses are hindered by persistent legal risks. Lawyered seeks to integrate legal infrastructure into daily operations in a variety of industries, including real estate, finance, healthcare, and e-commerce.

According to Lawyered, it works with more than 800 companies in India and covers more than 2 million vehicles. Over 200,000 legal disputes have been settled by its platforms, LOTS247 and ChallanPay, saving users over $6 million in fines and downtime.
