Paar Autonomy raises Rs 3.5 Cr funding from Venture Catalysts

In a pre-seed round led by Venture Catalysts, Paar Autonomy, a next-generation robotics startup developing perception hardware and agentic artificial intelligence for unmanned vehicles, has raised Rs 3.5 crore.

The money raised will be used to expand Paar Autonomy’s engineering and business development teams, deliver pilot units to PSU and defense clients, and commission the company’s first production line. Additionally, it is investigating partnerships with defense institutions, PSUs, and foreign OEMs to provide turnkey gimballed payloads as well as licensable AI models that adapt current USV, UAV, and UGV fleets.

Paar Autonomy was founded in 2024 by robotics engineer Vignesh Jayaraman, who was previously head of product at one of the top drone startups in India. The company creates multi-sensor, gyro-stabilized gimbal cameras that provide “super-human” vision to unmanned aerial, ground, and sea vehicles. These are combined with proprietary agentic AI models that enable real-time collaboration, coordination, and interpretation of complex environments by machines.

The startup’s first focus is on the $6 billion global defense market for perception and autonomy solutions, which is expected to grow by another $4–5 billion by 2030 due to the addition of ground and marine robots. Critical civilian applications in disaster response, infrastructure monitoring, and industrial inspection are also addressed by its dual-use technology.

The company is positioning itself against global players in autonomy by focusing on both the defense and industrial markets, while also using its “Made in India” intellectual property advantage to expand globally.
