Plutus received $280k Pre-seed funding from Campus Fund
The Campus Fund and other investors, such as CIIE – IIM Ahmedabad, Shruti, and Alagu Preiyannan, helped student-run startup Plutus raise $280K for pre-seed funding.
According to a press release from Plutus, the money will be used to create new tools that will increase the potential for content creators to make money and strengthen relationships with their followers.
Plutus, a platform for live and hyper-casual community games, was founded in June 2021 by Karata Dasmahapatra, Shivanshu Tyagi, and Sambhav Jain with the goal of deepening interactions between creators and their fans. Plutus is a platform that allows for the two-way exchange of content via live chats, group chats, games created by independent developers, integrated payments, and analytics.
Plutus claims that with a pay-as-you-go system, creators can make more money from their user base than they can from workshops or subscriptions, and in some cases, they can make more money than they can from advertiser promotions. Increased repurchase rates, fan retention, and creator earnings all show this.
With the introduction of a new lineup of hyper-casual games and features, Plutus hopes to grow throughout South-East Asia and India. With over 10,000 creators on the waitlist, the startup claims to work with over 3,000 creators in India. Additionally, it experiences a 35% month-over-month increase in user base and an 86% Net Promoter Score (NPS).
HDFC Bank, IIFL Wealth, as well as private investors like Deep Kalra, Phanindra Sarna, and Keisuke Honda, among others, support Campus Fund.
