QueryPie announced successful closure of its $27.82 M strategic investment round
With the successful completion of its strategic investment round and the addition of Shinhan Venture Investment, CHEQUER Inc., the innovative South Korean developer behind QueryPie, a cloud security solution, announced on Monday that it had raised $27.82 million.
According to a statement from CHEQUER, this round also includes well-known investors like Salesforce Ventures and Z Venture Capital (ZVC).
In order to further increase its footprint in the public, financial, and enterprise markets in Japan and Korea, CHEQUER stated that it intends to take advantage of its robust clientele, which includes LG Uplus, Kakao, Shinhan, Yanolja, and Hyperconnect (Match Group).
In the rapidly changing fields of cloud security and digital transformation, the company claimed to be well-positioned for significant growth and success with the backing of its strategic investors and a sound growth plan.
With the support of Salesforce Ventures, ZVC, and Shinhan Venture Investment, CHEQUER Inc. is expanding into the Japanese market, and CEO and founder Brant Hwang is very excited about this move.
In order to drive market penetration and increase customer value, he underlined the importance of aligning with investment partners who share QueryPie’s vision of offering comprehensive support and impactful solutions for cybersecurity and digital transformation in Japan.
“CHEQUER Inc. aims to bolster its competitiveness in cybersecurity and corporate compliance by obtaining security certifications on a global scale, including J-Sox certification equivalent to Japan’s IT General Control (ITGC) standards, and introducing a zero-trust security model along with a cloud SaaS-based access control solutions tailored for Japanese enterprises,” he added.
Shinhan Venture Investment’s Head of Global Division JinSoo Lee highlighted QueryPie’s potential for growth and its state-of-the-art cloud-based security solution technology, which outperforms international standards.
In order to establish CHEQUER Inc. as a major player in the digital transformation of the Japanese industry, he also discussed the company’s dedication to finding and funding promising Korean startups that have the potential to succeed in the Japanese market.
CHEQUER is a business-to-business (B2B) provider of solutions optimized for software as a service (SaaS) and cloud environments. The company was founded in Silicon Valley in 2016 and offers the Cloud Data Protection Platform, or CDPP.
In June 2020, the company officially launched the QueryPie with a team made up of engineers with experience from Kakao and Naver as well as specialists from other fields.
