$27 M secured by SG pharmacy platform SwipeRx in Series B funding round

SwipeRx, a pharmaceutical platform located in Singapore, has secured US $27 million in a Series B investment headed by MDI Ventures and including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, and Susquehanna International Group.

The company, which was formerly known as mClinica Pharmacy Solutions, would utilize the new funding to expand across Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Indonesia.

SwipeRx was developed to assist modernize Southeast Asia’s fragmented pharmaceutical network and is now called after its main app. The firm provides digital solutions to its clients to help them manage their locations and patients. It works with 235,000 pharmacy professionals and 45,000 pharmacies across the area.

Pharmacists may also use the site to get inventory finance, learn online, and manage purchases.

“We see great potential and promise in SwipeRx’s platform as it strives to address the challenges faced by pharmacies, especially in Indonesia, by connecting different players – big and small – all under one platform,” said Donald Wihardja, CEO of round leader MDI Ventures.

According to Grand View Research, the worldwide digital health industry is expected to reach over US $295 billion by 2028, rising at a compound annual growth rate of 15.1 percent.

Farouk Meralli established SwipeRx in 2012. With over 400 people, the firm wants to increase its staff, extend its pharmacy network, accelerate its technological innovation, and expand its healthcare logistics to support B2B commerce.
