Logistics firm RajaOngkir acquired by Indonesia’s e-commerce Komerce
The acquisition of RajaOngkir, a top platform for application programming interface (API) integration and real-time shipping cost calculation, has been announced by Komerce, a technology company that offers end-to-end solutions for e-commerce businesses in Indonesia.
Last Thursday, Komerce released a statement stating that this merger solidifies Komerce’s standing as a leading player in Indonesia’s e-commerce enabler market.
RajaOngkir is anticipated to increase the reach and boost the effectiveness of Komerce’s logistics services. It has been downloaded over 5 million times from the Playstore and is utilized by thousands of businesses via API integration.
In order to offer its clients more complete and integrated solutions—especially for large enterprises or brands that need API integration to manage their product shipments—Komerce reportedly made the strategic decision to merge with RajaOngkir.
Komerce is now able to provide a more comprehensive end-to-end solution by fusing the strengths of both businesses.
In the past, Komerce offered end users with more than 10,000 users the Komship shipping aggregator service.
With more seamless API integration—including shipping cost checks, package pick-up, delivery management, and cash on delivery (COD)—it will now concentrate more on the enterprise or brand segment.
“The merger with RajaOngkir is an important step for Komerce to continue growing and evolving, particularly in sharpening our strategy and penetration in the shipping and logistics sectors,” said Nofi Bayu Darmawan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Komerce.
“With RajaOngkir now part of the Komerce ecosystem, we are even closer to our vision of becoming a trusted partner for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or brands looking to enter the e-commerce industry in Indonesia,
“We believe that with more complete and integrated solutions, we can help our clients achieve greater success,” he added.
Damar Riyadi, the founder of RajaOngkir, stated that RajaOngkir will succeed in creating API-based shipping technology integration for their clients and propelling the expansion of Indonesia’s e-commerce sector because of the resources and network Komerce has.
Nofi Bayu Darmawan founded Komerce in 2020 with the assistance of co-founders Syaefullah Syeif, who served as the chief operating officer, and Satriyo Budi Utomo, who joined as the chief technology officer in 2021.
From e-commerce development, shipping aggregator, e-fulfillment, omnichannel software as a service (SaaS), customer relationship management (CRM), and other solutions, the company offers SMEs an end-to-end solution for their operations.
