Samara Capital acquires stakes in ARC, Calyx to build integrated logistics platform

Private equity firm Samara Capital has acquired stakes in Associated Road Carriers (ARC) and Calyx Container Terminals as part of a move to build an integrated logistics platform.
According to a Mint report, Samara has invested around Rs 1,200 crore in the transaction, with the private equity firm and the existing promoters holding nearly equal stakes in the combined entity.
The new platform brings together ARC’s business-to-business road transportation network with Calyx’s container freight station operations at Chennai Port. Together, the two businesses generated around Rs 2,140 crore in revenue during FY26.
The capital infusion will be used to expand the companies’ branch and hub network, enhance first-mile and last-mile capabilities and invest in technology upgrades. The platform could also explore acquisitions as it scales its operations across India.
Samara aims to develop a nationwide logistics business serving both domestic and EXIM cargo. Its strategy will include improving operational efficiency through investments in technology, data analytics, engineering and process optimisation.
By combining ARC’s extensive road network with Calyx’s port-linked infrastructure, the platform plans to provide logistics services across multiple stages of the supply chain.
