Dorje Teas raised Rs 1.8 Cr Seed funding from Coast Fund VC, Untitled Ventures, and others

Direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup Dorje Teas, situated in Darjeeling, has raised Rs 1.8 crore in its Seed funding round, spearheaded by Coast Fund VC (Blink Digital’s venture arm), with involvement from Untitled Ventures, Ice VC, SSK Exports, the Chandigarh Angels Network (CAN), and a group of Ashoka University alumni.

In the round, entrepreneurs and creators like Arjun Vaidya and Varun Mayya also participated in Dorje Teas. Nakuul Mehta, the top TV personality in India, will also be joining Dorje Teas as an investor and brand ambassador.

After making an appearance on Season 2 of Shark Tank India earlier this year, the three-year-old startup gained notoriety. There, it was able to secure investment deals from well-known D2C investors Anupam Mittal and Vineeta Singh. The business asserted that since their appearance on the reality show, their operations and revenues had increased by 300%.

Apart from broadening its range of products, Dorje Teas intends to set up an internal content studio to generate captivating content that accentuates the brand’s dedication to health and excellence. Along with developing its B2B vertical, the company is starting to plan the global export of Darjeeling teas.

The startup, which was founded by Sparsh Agarwal and Ishaan Kanoria, will host a staycation program for content creators at the historic Selim Hill tea garden. Influencers will be invited to participate in the program and share their experiences through the brand’s distinctive offerings.

In this market, well-known venture capital-backed companies include Team Monk, Vahdam Teas, and Tea Box.
