Medtech startup Bioscan Research raises $1 M Seed funding from Unicorn India Ventures

Unicorn India Ventures sponsored a $1 million seed fundraising round for Bioscan Research, a medtech business situated in Mumbai.

The profits will be used for market expansion, acquiring additional regulatory clearances, improving its products and producing new intellectual property.

Bioscan Research, which was founded in 2017 by Anupam Lavania and Shilpa Malik, creates non-invasive medical devices to identify brain damage early. Its flagship product, CEREBO, employs near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and machine learning to detect intracranial abnormalities, enabling early detection of traumatic brain injuries even before apparent symptoms show.

The company claims that its technology is intended to improve patient outcomes and assist medical professionals in identifying brain damage during the crucial treatment window.

According to Bioscan Research, it has grown five times in the last twelve months. By increasing its market share in India and other countries, it hopes to increase thrice over the course of the upcoming year.

Unicorn India Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm that was founded in 2016 and focuses on deeptech companies in a variety of industries, including medical diagnostics, semiconductors, spacetech, and AI infrastructure.
