Majority stake in GenAI startup Minivet AI acquired by Flipkart

According to a statement from the company, Flipkart has purchased the majority of Minivet AI, a startup focused on generative artificial intelligence.
The transaction’s financial terms were not made public.
Minivet AI was established in 2024 and focuses on providing e-commerce platforms with generative video and visual content solutions. The startup’s main goal is to use artificial intelligence to transform static product catalogs into visual and video-based content.
Flipkart claims that its e-commerce platform will use Minivet AI’s technology to facilitate content creation and product discovery. The startup’s tools allow for the large-scale production of visual assets, the company continued.
The purchase coincides with an increase in the use of AI by e-commerce businesses in customer-facing and cataloguing applications. AI tools have been used by a number of platforms to enhance the consistency and quality of content across sizable seller bases.
Following the transaction, Flipkart withheld information about the operational structure and integration schedule.
For an undisclosed sum, Flipkart also purchased the majority of Pinkvilla, a digital entertainment and lifestyle platform, in September.
