Gourmet pizza chain The Dough Therapy has raised Rs 5.25 crore in a seed funding round led by Michigan Capital Advisors, previously known as Melwani Finance. Equiglobe Investment also participated in the round, which values the company at Rs 35 crore.
The company will deploy the proceeds to strengthen its footprint in Mumbai and advance its expansion across multiple markets. According to a press release, 60% of the funds will go towards opening new outlets, 15% will be spent on marketing, and the remaining 25% will support supply chain development, centralised operations and kitchen technology.
Established in 2020 by Abhishek Dedhia, Mohit Chheda and Gaurav Majrekar, The Dough Therapy has expanded from a single outlet to a network of 10 locations across Mumbai. Its menu features over 30 varieties of gourmet vegetarian and vegan pizzas.
The company said its customer base comprises both new and repeat customers, providing a foundation for its planned growth.
Over the next 12 months, The Dough Therapy aims to double its outlet count to 20. It also intends to introduce its gourmet pizza offerings in additional Indian cities.
To facilitate this expansion, the brand plans to adopt a combination of company-operated outlets, select dine-in formats and franchise partnerships.
