$1.5 M Seed funding raised by virtual spiritual platform Vama

With the help of Wavemaker Partners, the virtual spiritual app Vama has raised $1.5 million in a seed round. The funding round included participation from prominent angel investors like Dhruv Bahl and Burak Buyukdemir, as well as current marquee investors like Blume Founders Fund, Alluvium, and Harit Nagpal.

Prior to this round, Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng led the startup’s seed round in December of last year, which raised $500,000 in funding.

Vama stated in a press release that the new funds will be utilized to hire more staff, accelerate product development, enhance technology, and grow its user base.

Vama was founded in late 2020 by Manu Jain, Himanshu Semwal, and Acharya Dev to give devotees simple access to e-darshans, e-pujas, and astrological services.

The platform, which is accessible on Android and iOS devices, claims to have enabled over 150,000 astrology consultations and virtual puja. It provides virtual puja remedies in temples to devotees and customers from all over the world.
