Harajuku Tokyo Café raises $3 M Pre-series A funding from Zero W

Japanese food and beverage company Harajuku Tokyo Café, which operates Harajuku Tokyo Café and Harajuku Bakehouse, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Zero W.
Existing investors Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Samved VC also participated, investing additional capital. The round saw new participation from Blume Founders Fund, Brijesh Parekh Family Office, Rahul Jain, co-founder of Epigamia, and other investors.
In August 2025, the company raised $2 million (Rs 19 crore) in a seed round co-led by IAN and Samved VC, with contributions from LetsVenture and venture debt fund Capitar Ventures.
The fresh capital will support the company’s next phase of expansion. Harajuku Tokyo Café said in a press release that it is targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue in the current financial year.
Founded in 2021 by Gaurav Kanwar, Harajuku operates two food and beverage formats across Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Its flagship Harajuku Tokyo Café is a full-service restaurant concept featuring conveyor-belt sushi and Tokyo-inspired interiors.
Harajuku Bakehouse, meanwhile, follows a quick-service model, serving Japanese breads, desserts and savoury snacks. The company has built its menu and operating platform in collaboration with chefs Asami Indo and Higuchi Nariaki, with the aim of scaling its operations and bringing contemporary Japanese cuisine to Indian consumers.
The company plans to launch 10 outlets across new neighbourhoods in Delhi NCR and Mumbai over the next two quarters. It is also looking to expand into Bengaluru and Chandigarh. Additionally, Harajuku aims to make its central kitchens in Mumbai and Bengaluru operational by December 2026. These facilities will cater to Bakehouse outlets and support the production of packaged food products for markets in western and southern India.
Since its seed round in August 2025, Harajuku has doubled both its outlet count and revenue. Mumbai, where it began operations in July 2025, now accounts for 25% of its revenue. The company currently handles more than 1,000 orders daily through its dine-in and delivery channels.
Harajuku Bakehouse generates over 30% of the company’s overall revenue. In Delhi NCR, it sells more than 1,000 loaves of bread every week through quick commerce platform Blinkit. Harajuku plans to take the Bakehouse format to more metropolitan markets.
