Spacetech startup QOSMIC raises $3.3 M Seed funding from Prosus, Accel, South Park Commons

Prosus, Accel, and South Park Commons have contributed $3.3 million to the seed investment round of Bengaluru-based spacetech startup QOSMIC.

The money raised will be utilized to develop its technical teams in the fields of optics, electronics, and mechanical systems as well as to increase its production, integration, and testing capacities.

Transmitting massive amounts of satellite data down to Earth is a rising problem in the space industry, and QOSMIC is developing communication infrastructure to address it. The amount of data produced in space is growing quickly as the number of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites rises, leading to data transit bottlenecks.

The business is concentrating on creating technologies that can increase space-to-ground communication systems’ speed and effectiveness. As government and commercial space missions continue to grow, its solutions are made to support the upcoming generation of satellite networks.

Over the next five years, some 70,000 LEO satellites are anticipated to be launched, greatly raising the need for data transmission infrastructure, according to Goldman Sachs Research.
