Suminter India Organics raised Rs 25 Cr debt capital from BlackSoil Capital

Suminter India Organics, an organic and sustainable food ingredients company, has raised Rs 25 crore ($2.6 million) in debt capital from BlackSoil Capital.

The company claims that the cash will allow it to purchase premium organic food items in large quantities while strengthening ties with its network of more than 100,000 smallholder farmers in Africa, the Philippines, and India.

Suminter coordinates the procurement, certification, processing, and worldwide distribution of certified organic and sustainably sourced ingredients through a fully integrated farm-to-market infrastructure under Sameer Mehra’s leadership. The company distributes items including spices, coconut products, oilseeds, cocoa, sweeteners, and natural fibres to prominent food and ingredient companies in the U.S., Europe, and other foreign markets.

The platform developed by the company aims to improve farmer livelihoods and promote regenerative farming methods while providing end-to-end traceability.

Suminter’s business strategy, based on smallholder inclusion, certified organic farming, and transparent supply chains, exemplifies this approach.

Through its integrated farm-to-market platform, the company connects more than 100,000 smallholder farmers across India, the Philippines, and Africa to global food and feed markets, giving traceability, quality assurance, and sustainable sourcing solutions to top multinational brands.
